partnerships allow The AIDS Network to effectively provide education
and support services; provide HIV/AIDS information and support to
the aboriginal communities through existing peer programs and agencies;
assist clients with key life issues such as housing and food without
duplicating or complicating existing community programs; increase
the effectiveness of local needle exchange programs; provide more
co-ordinated services for clients dealing with addictions; offer HIV/AIDS
information to youth through existing peer programs which utilize
appropriate jargon, norms and culture and develop stronger community
responses to HIV/AIDS related issues. |
