A Taste at Home Campaign

April 27, 2020

The AIDS Network is proud to announce our newest fundraising campaign, A Taste at Home!

Every year, The AIDS Network participates in the annual national fundraiser A Taste for Life, a restaurant based event where our partner restaurants donate 25% of their sales for the evening to support many of The AIDS Network’s most crucial programs and services. Due to the current circumstances, this event had to be cancelled this year, but our work supporting some of the most marginalized and vulnerable folks in the communities of Hamilton, Halton, Haldimand, Norfolk and Brant continues and needs your support now more than ever.

While we may not be able to come together for an evening of great food and supporting our cause, great food can still bring us together, and so we are sharing with you the favourite recipes of our team, volunteers and community partners! Over the next few weeks we will be adding to this virtual cookbook to help inspire you in your own kitchen, and we hope our A Taste at Home campaign bring you the comfort these recipes bring our contributors. While we may be physically distant, we can still come together in a spirit of sharing and giving.

Check out our A Taste at Home online recipe book!

If you are enjoying our recipes and you are able at this time, please consider making a donation to The AIDS Network. Fundraising is a crucial component in our ability to provide programs and services to our most vulnerable clients. Food security programs are especially necessary in this difficult time, and are wholly supported by fundraising dollars. You can make a donation through our Canada Helps page:

We would also like to thank our long-term restaurant partners for their many years of supporting our work through participating in this fundraiser. The Cat N’ FiddleThe Purple PearLa Piazza Allegra have participated every year for many years, other restaurants who have participated in the recent past include Maccheroni Cuchina AlfrescoTracie’s Place Restaurant and Karaoke and The Diplomat. We encourage you to support these establishments by ordering take-out for those who have converted temporarily to takeout operations, and to support them by dining in when it is safe again to do so.
