Notice: In order to reinforce Canada’s efforts to slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus the national restaurant-based fundraiser A Taste for Life has been cancelled for 2020. The AIDS Network has been participating in this fundraiser for a long time, and though we are disappointed to miss out this year, we agree with the campaign coordinators that cancelling the event is necessary. We are looking forward to getting started now to make 2021 an outstanding event!
We would also like to thank many of our long-term restaurant partners for their many years of supporting our work through participating in this fundraiser. The Cat N’ Fiddle, The Purple Pear, La Piazza Allegra have participated every year for many years, other restaurants who have participated in the recent past include Maccheroni Cuchina Alfresco, Tracie’s Place Restaurant and Karaoke and The Diplomat. We encourage you to support these establishments by ordering take-out for those who have converted temporarily to takeout operations, and to support them by dining in when it is safe again to do so.
We rely on fundraising to offer a number of our crucial programs and services, and so are planning to replace this event with an online donation drive, details of which we will share soon.
A Taste for Life is one of our annual signature events. This event helps support programs and services for people living with HIV in our community, such as the “One Pot Meal” Program which provides over 1300 hot meals a year to individuals and families living with HIV.
A Taste For Life is a dining event in which thousands of people dine out at participating Taste restaurants enjoying good food for a great cause! Participating restaurants donate 25% of the night’s proceeds to The AIDS Network.
