Comfort & Joy Artist Spotlight: Bernie Hudecki

December 5, 2019

Next up is Bernie Hudecki, another Hamilton-based artist and one of the select few modern pointillist masters. From his bio:

26 years ago, I began to experiment with a form of pointillism, a French impressionist style, using (Crayola) crayon as my medium and had some early success. Over time I added the ‘Sharpie’ marker in the same manner, sometimes called stippling. Today acrylic paint is my medium of choice. I like getting a colourful, mosaic effect on both the subject and background. Figurative images dominate my portfolio, followed by portraiture, still life and the occasional abstract. I try to keep it simple and avoid attaching ‘deeper meaning’ to my work. I love the process of drawing and painting. As a retired elementary school teacher, I now have more ‘time to play’. I am constantly grateful for the positive alignment of things in heaven and on earth that allows me to do so.

Bernie has generously donated two original pieces in his signature style, check him out on his Facebook page. Thank you for your generous support Bernie!
