Comfort & Joy Artist Spotlight: Gordon Leverton

December 5, 2019

We are extremely thrilled to be spotlighting another amazing local artist whose work will be for sale at Comfort & JoyGordon Leverton!

Gordon Leverton breaks down the city into component parts. Shadows, buildings and skylines, all become part of the same plane and transform into pieces of a puzzle. Using acrylic paint and soft pastel mediums, Leverton explores a theme common to the urban experience – how community connects us all.

Leverton is currently creating two new series. “Sight Lines” uses acrylics to look at the city from a bird’s eye view, connecting buildings through circuitry in a graphic style. “Certain Terms” examines our hot real estate market using wood, plastic and metal assemblage to form faux house facades.

Gordon lives in Hamilton, Ontario with his wife and two children.

Gordon has donated a print of his acrylic painting entitled ‘Open Secret’, thank you for your support Gordon!

Join us on December 6th, 6:00pm-10:00pm at the Art Gallery of Hamilton for Comfort & Joy, a charity silent art auction in support of The AIDS Network.
