To all our friends and colleagues in our communities,
As the COVID 19 situation continues to evolve and change by the day, and on the advice of medical professionals, we have made a decision to take further measures to protect both the health of our staff and the public. We will be closing our office locations in Hamilton and Oakville today at 5:00pm, and will be keeping a close eye on the situation in the hopes of return to our regular program and service delivery as soon as possible. Our team will be continuing to work remotely throughout this time, and will be doing as much as we can to continue supporting the health and wellbeing of the people we help.
Our support staff will continue to be in touch with our case management clients, and for the time being The Van will continue to distribute naloxone and harm reduction supplies nightly from 7:00pm – 11:00pm. If you require harm reduction supplies, as always call or text The Van at 905-317-9966. We are currently exploring options to provide more harm reduction supply distribution during the day and hope to have an announcement about that soon.
This is not a decision we have made lightly, but we are confident that working together and taking responsible social distancing steps wherever possible needs to be our priority and ultimately will best support the health and wellbeing of our communities, especially the many people we help who are more vulnerable.
