International Sex Workers Day

June 2, 2020

Today is International Sex Workers Day. On this day, June 2, 1975, a 100+ sex workers in Lyon, France occupied St. Nizier Church to protest sex worker murders and police brutality. Sex work is real work and deserves to be recognized as such. Sex workers all over Canada are experiencing loss of income due to COVID 19 related lockdowns. Connect with your local sex worker organization or groups for information on how to support them. In Hamilton, please contact SWAP Hamilton, swaphamilton@gmail.com or visit their website at  www.swaphamilton.com Thank you SWAP Hamilton for the amazing work yo do in the community!

In recognition of today, The AIDS  Network donated care packages to be distributed to Hamilton area sex workers this week.
