As the weather starts to get colder, many of the people we help need a little extra support. The AIDS Network stocks an emergency pantry with nonperishable food items and winter clothing items that we are able to distribute to folks in need, many of whom are experiencing street involvement and/or homelessness, through our Van harm reduction programs.
We rely on the help of our friends and allies in the communities we serve in order to do this, and are asking for your support. Items we most urgently need are
- Mittens & gloves
We are also accepting donations of yarn as we have a number of volunteers knitting and crocheting items for our pantry.
Nonperishable food items are also always appreciated – we are especially in need of food items that are ready to eat, such as granola bars.
If you have items you would like to donate you can either
- Drop the donations off at our office space at 140 King St E suite 101 (lower level) in Hamilton. Due to Covid 19 our offices remain closed, however we are able to accept donations on Tuesdays, from 9am to 3pm. In order to get to us, you will need to enter through the doors on Main Street, and the lower level is accessible by elevator.
- Arrange for a donation pick-up or another time to drop off to our office by contacting James Diemert, Community Engagement Coordinator at firstname.lastname@example.org
Help us help some of our communities most vulnerable members this winter.
