When Harm Reduction educators give people tips about staying safe, one of the top pieces of advice is to always use with someone else. In our current Covid 19 public health emergency, this can be more challenging, as we are all being advised to physically isolate as much as possible. So, if you are using alone anywhere in Ontario, there is a phone resource through Grenfell Ministries called the Overdose Prevention Line that you should know about.
The Overdose Prevention Line is a peer-developed initiative where you can call a toll-free number and provide an operator with your name and address. The operator will stay on the line while you use, and if you are unable to respond to them afterwards, they will place a 911 call to disbatch emergency responders to the location you provided.
