The results are in, Walk Away from Stigma our most successful Walk to date!

December 1, 2020

On September 20th we launched our first-ever virtual AIDS Walk fundraiser, and we are very pleased to announce that Walk Away from Stigma Week was The AIDS Network’s most successful Walk fundraiser in our 25 year history of hosting an AIDS Walk event!

In total, Walk Away from Stigma Week raised over $20,000, more than twice our goal!

It is with enormous gratitude that we express our deepest thanks to all who took the time to participate and share our campaign, and to those who donated. Many of our most valued programs and services that meet the immediate needs of the people we help rely on fundraising dollars, and your amazing support will ensure these programs and services can continue. By now we are all very familiar with the fact that times are tough for everyone, and many of the people who we help have been among those hit the hardest. Your generosity in these times means a great deal and will go a long way to helping us support some of our communities most vulnerable members.

We would like to again thank our generous sponsors for their support of our Walk.

The AIDS Network’s Walk Away from Stigma is presented by Marchese Health Care, and made possible through the generous support of our sponsors, including

The Dunham Group

Pharmasave Prism’s

The Co-operators Insurance & Financial Services

Heidi’s RV Superstore

Bind Architecture

Special thanks also to the staff of TD who walked as a team and together raised $6,536, which TD has generously matched, bringing their total contribution to $13,072 !

Another special mention goes to the Imperial Court of the Waterfall Empire who are among our longest-standing supporters. Team Waterfall Empire raised $1,050 through participating in this walk, and also have named The AIDS Network as one of their charitable beneficiaries this year, support which we always appreciate.

It continues to be our honour to do this important work in the regions of Hamilton, Halton, Haldimand, Norfolk and Brant, and we are so grateful for this outpouring of support for our mission and vision from our friends and allies accross our communities.

From all of us at The AIDS Network, Thank you for Walking with us.
