Reports to Community Engagement Coordinator
Shifts available are 10 am to 1pm or 1pm to 4pm Monday to Friday.
This position otherwise known as “First Contact” requires individuals who are reliable, professional, and have a compassion for working with populations who are living with or vulnerable to HIV, people who use drugs, experiencing homelessness, food insecurity, and various mental health conditions.
Duties include answering the reception phone and directing calls to the appropriate staff, greeting service users coming in for harm reduction supplies, practical assistance, groups and/or appointments. Assisting service users with harm reduction and/or food supplies, directing them to the appropriate staff and/or groups. Data entry of harm reductions supplies dispensed, restocking of harm reductions supplies, and kit making from time to time. Other tasks as assigned by staff.
Full training is provided and staff members/volunteers will always be available to assist.
Requirements
Previous work and/or volunteer experience is an asset.
Someone who is reliable, professional, a team player, and has a positive/friendly attitude with compassion and empathy.
Police check is required and paid for by The AIDS Network.
Proof of a minimum of (2) COVID-19 vaccinations received.
