Through treatment, people living with HIV can and deserve to live long, healthy lives.
Although advancements in treatment have made it possible to stay healthy while living with HIV, an HIV-positive diagnosis can complicate and greatly affect a person’s life. Social stigma around HIV negatively impacts the community, and causes people living with HIV to face discrimination, criminalization and other challenges that make it difficult to get well and stay well. The AIDS Network’s support programs help people living with HIV in the regions of Hamilton, Halton, Haldimand, Norfolk, and Brant to get connected and stay connected to care. Embracing a holistic approach, these programs aim to support people in meeting their basic needs and improving their lives through programs and services including food security programs, transportation assistance, social support groups, individual counselling, and case management.
The AIDS Network relies on the support of our friends and allies within the communities that we serve to deliver our most crucial programs and services. Show your support today and help us to continue our mission to respond to the impact of HIV. We imagine a world without new infection and long, healthy lives for people living with, affected by, and vulnerable to HIV.
